Explore AdmissionsBy the Numbers
Three decades of scholarship, athletics, and the quiet work of forming character — measured not only in placements and prizes, but in the lives our graduates lead.

Academic Excellence
From Advanced Placement seminars to original research alongside university faculty, our program asks students to think with rigor, write with clarity, and pursue questions to their furthest edge.
Campus Experience

Stone arches, ancient oaks, and a hundred unhurried mornings between class. The architecture of Griffin is, itself, part of the curriculum.

Eight working laboratories — molecular biology, organic chemistry, astrophysics — designed in partnership with our faculty and university advisors.
Student Achievement
National medals, international finals, championship pennants — and the disciplines behind them. A selection from recent seasons.
Faculty
Our teachers hold doctorates from leading universities and publish, perform, and practice in their fields. They are, first, present — in seminar, on the page, in the lives of their students.

PhD, Comparative Literature, Yale. Twenty years of teaching the long nineteenth century.

PhD, Physics, MIT. Former research fellow at CERN. Advisor to our independent research programme.

MFA, Yale School of Drama. Founder of the Griffin Repertory Theatre.
Admissions
Admission to Griffin is selective and intentional. We look for curiosity, character, and a genuine desire to contribute — qualities not always visible on a transcript.
Submit the Griffin application, transcripts, and a personal statement by 15 January.
A conversation with our admissions team and a member of the faculty — on campus or online.
Decisions are released in March. Families are welcomed at our admitted students' weekend.

Read the storyIn Their Words
Griffin taught me to read closely, write honestly, and ask better questions. I carry those habits still.
What sets Griffin apart is the seriousness with which the faculty take a teenager's ideas.
Four formative years. The community is genuine — small enough to be known, ambitious enough to be stretched.
